Recording: Fair to Good mono audience. Source: CD1-2 Ulster Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland Mar. 5 '71; CD3-4 National Boxing Stadium, Dublin, Republic Of Ireland Mar. 6 '71. Comments: Japanese bootleg. Deluxe glossy hinged open box with digi-pack holding CDs inside. Limited edition to 200 numbered copies - first 100 are "container cover" edition and another 100 are "painting cover" edition. Includes sticker. Additional Comments: Japanese bootleg. 2 versions of the 1st edition were produced. First version cover is a painted war scene on a square card slip case with sticker containing a luxury thick quad foldout digi-pack housing the 4 picture CD's and Limited to 100 copies. The second version is again a square card slip case resembling the guitar case for 911117 in black with aluminium coloured edges plus sticker, housing the luxury thick quad foldout digi-pack and picture CD's and limited to 100 copies. Tarantura did not add music from a different show like EVSD did. The annoying squeal during Stairway To Heaven has been nicely edited out by Tarantura. The Dublin show was also compared directly. In my opinion, the new Tarantura release is a significant upgrade when compared with the EVSD release. "Black Velvet" has a much flatter sound with plenty of tape hiss. The Tarantura sounds far better. To summarize, the Belfast show does not have a great upgrade in sound quality when compared to the EVSD release and there are some cuts. However, no music was added from other shows and the annoying squeal in Stairway is now gone. The Dublin show is a significant upgrade in sound quality.

Source: Newcastle City Hall, Newcastle upon Tyne, England June 20 '69 except (*)Mothers Club, Erdington, Birmingham, West Midlands, England Mar. 22 '69. Comments: Japanese bootleg. Large deluxe thick glossy hard slip cover with sticker housing a rigid bi-fold glossy slipcase housing the picture CD's. Limited edition of 200 numbered copies. A potentially very exciting release of two completely new 1969 UK shows. When first announced this was going to be a four disc rip-off, similar to the Auckland 1972 release (two discs unequalized and two equalized), to make sure that a new show to CD was milked for every penny. Fortunately it has become a two disc release. No doubt the original Newcastle tape had a lot of hiss, and this has been removed by EQ, but the result is the loss of any top end. The bottom end is not bad, but the original tape recording suffered from distortion, and the EQ has heightened this. The second tape (Birmingham) is much clearer, and there is tape hiss present, so it has not received such a heavy handed equalization. Overall, one to avoid if you have chance to grab an original master tape transfers.

Deluxe glossy card foldout quad slipcase with sticker, paper sleeves and picture CD's. Limited edition of 200 numbered copies. "Cold Sweat" on Tarantura2000 is another edition that is similar to the other two releases in using the three different sources. Live Remains and Empress Valley both chose to use all of the available soundboard as a base and fill in the audience sources around it. Tarantura's edition is different in they want to minimize use of the soundboard recording as much as possible. So while technically this is a three source mix, for practical purposes this is really a mix of the two audience tapes.

Some things are worth the wait for us Zeppelin hard collectors. Word's been out for some time that Tarantura's "The Diploma" would present the November 25, 1971 Leicester University show from the "master tapes" for the first time. Indeed, during the time passage for this release to hit the street its title even changed, suggesting the amount of effort and thought behind finalizing this release for public consumption. Having Empress Valley's "Best For Hard 'N' Heavy" to compare with "The Diploma", it can be comfortably said that this is a healthy and pleasing upgrade to Empress Valley's issue of this show. Very recommened to heavy Zeppelin maniacs.

Large deluxe thick glossy hard slip cover with sticker housing a rigid quad-fold glossy slipcase housing the picture CD's. What should have been a very important addition to the Led Zeppelin Live repertoire was tarnished by spreading a new show over four CDs. "I'm With the Band" is a celebration of groupies and the rock stars who love them. The title itself comes from the memoirs of the most famous of them, Pamela Des Barres, who is famous for bedding Jimmy Page among many others. Tarantura gives the package a trashy feel with several candid armature photos of the band with various members of this bottom-feeding cast of fame scavengers with a nice stick of butter on top to symbolize The Butterqueen on the cardboard gatefold sleeve.

Deluxe glossy cardboard quad fold-out sleeve with sticker, paper sleeves and picture CD's. Limited edition to 200 numbered copies. "Jupiter And Saturn" is another release of the video soundtrack from Led Zeppelin's Seattle concert in 1977. It is billed as being sourced from a legitimate soundboard but it sounds like the same source that surfaced in 2001 and released on "Kingdom Come" (Watch Tower), "Return Of The Dragon" (Apple), "Year Of The Dragon" (Empress Valley) and most recently on "Dragon Slayers" (Genuine Masters). Tarantura2000 try to take a rather dry and sterile sounding recording and work on it to make it sound like the excellent and lively 1975 soundboards that have been coming out on Empress Valley the past couple years. They increased the echo under the music and boosted as much as possible the audience cheering between tracks. The heavy handed mastering also produces a "wind tunnel" effect in the higher frequencies that can be a bit annoying. Some of the balance problems in the early part of the show and present on previous releases are thankfully absent.

Recording: Very good mono audience. Songs out of proper sequence. Source: Swing Auditorium, San Bernardino, California June 22 '72. Comments: Japanese bootleg. Dalexue gatefold glossy sleeve with sticker. Limited to 100 numbered copies. Sadly, this is another big disappointment by this great label. The tape used on this release is compressed, distorted and doesn’t sound very good as many previous versions of this show. It sounds like Tarantura2000 were attempting to increase the volume and eliminate the hiss, but the result is this sounds like it was recorded on AM radio with poor reception. There are also some digital flaws in the mastering which are not found on any other releases. Some buzzing can be heard between Stairway To Heaven and Going To California, throughout Dazed And Confused, Moby Dick and the Whole Lotta Love medley.

Recording: Very good to Excellent mono/stereo audience. (CD1 copied from vinyl.) It depends on sources. Source: The Forum, Inglewood, Los Angeles, California Sept. 4 '70. Comments: Japanese bootleg. Deluxe glossy fold-out rigid box with sticker, with a plastic shuffle pack housing the picture CD's and fold-out mini poster. Limited edition of 150 numbered copies. Billed as a '35th Anniversary Edition', the box is missing the original TMoQ source, even though the artwork lists that it's included. The discs that are labeled as being from the TMoQ source are in fact really just a remastered copy of the Cobla/Cobra release "Live On Blueberry Hill". All of the cuts and source-switches on that release match perfectly when compared side-by-side. The sound has merely been boosted, and the cue stops changed. Which makes this release yet another in a long line of Tarantura2000 titles to feature a copied work on it (their usual material of choice being fan remasters). As for the other sources in the box, the version actually labelled as being the Cobla source is indeed that source tape. The difference between this version of that source and the one falsely labeled as being the TMoQ source, is that this one isn't a mix, and is instead the intact/incomplete recording alone. The other three source tapes in the box are likewise also featured intact/incomplete.

There are copies inside two reissues of the binder, which have become extremely scarce and desirable. The first is black felt, and the second is red plastic. Both are limited editions of 50 copies. The original Tarantura label were not able to complete their ambitious project of releasing every single "Tour Over Europe" concert back in 1997. Subsequently the Flagge label released the missing concerts, including this one. However it looks like Tarantura 2000 have revived the project, with this release, but unfortunately the top end of the recording has been lost due to equalisation of the tape hiss.

A large square rigid glossy slip case plus sticker housing a thick card luxury rigid tri-fold digi-pack containing the 2 picture CD's. Limited edition of 200 numbered copies. This is unfortunately an incomplete release of the recently surfaced new and far better sounding audience recording source tape. The main problem with this new Tarantura release is that it is missing the Organ Solo and Thank You, after White Summer/Black Mountain Side. It was learnt that Tarantura2000 were given an incomplete master to work with, hence the missing songs.

Deluxe thick card glossy gatefold release with sticker, paper sleeves and picture discs. Limited edition of 200 numbered copies. When Tarantura announced they were releasing "We're Unknown", it came right on the heels of Empress Valley's edition of this tape "Roll Over Beethoven". It was said the Tarantura is a longer version and fueled speculation it is the long rumored to be hoarded complete show. The reality is the label simply spliced some audience noise from earlier in the show onto the beginning and that's about it. In the competition between Empress Valley and Tarantura that the latter's handling of the tapes with their careful mastering by removing hiss to bring out the best in these tapes. That doesn't apply with this release, however, which is not only not complete but sounds much worse than the Empress Valley.

Limited 1st edition of 120 numbered copies: #001 - 050 St Michael Dragon Slayer picture cover, #051 - 100 Pan and Nymph Black and White cover and #101 - 120 Jimmy Page Promo Sampler. The year, when the audience tape for Led Zeppelin's New Orleans show first circulated, Empress Valley were the first to issue a six CD set on "Bourbon Street Renegades" featuring both the new tape and the old soundboard source that has been circulating for about twenty years. "The Witch Queen", like the previous issue, presents the audience and soundboard recordings spread over six discs. bUT it isn't, however, a simple copy and remaster of the Empress Valley. This presents another first generation transfer from the master tapes with Tarantura2000 doing their own work and presents a completely different listening experience. The Empress Valley was clear enough, but did contain noticeable amounts of hiss and sounded dull. "The Witch Queen", by contrast, is a dramatic improvement. There is not a trace of hiss in the audience recording and is significantly more clear, powerful and punchy. Overall, in comparing the Empress Valley with the Tarantura, the latter is a worthy upgrade on all counts: editing, sound quality, and presentation and is worth picking up even if one already owns the earlier release.
