Source: Almost complete fair to good audience
recording. 180 minutes.
Details: The tape starts off mostly muffled
and distant. The sound brightens and dulls throughout the entire show.
When the recording does clear up, the sound is very good. The instruments
are well defined during these portions. A quieted audience lessens the
distance by allowing better definition of the instrumentation. There
is no noticeable tape hiss.

Comments:
The second show of the tour and the second concert in two years. It
shows. The band is very rusty and unrehearsed, PA system problems truncated
group's playing, and Jimmy plays solos in completely wrong keys in some
songs! Robert's voice is fairly strong and the rhythm section seems
all right in most spots, but the lack of confidence shows in the short
length of No Quarter, Ten Years Gone and In My Time Of Dying. This show
is also the second ever time the new Presence songs are performed live,
as well as Ten Years Gone and The Battle Of Evermore.

Comments:
Opening night for the four night stand in Chicago and beginning of the
problems with firecrackers that disorganised the band. Plant said before
any note was played: "Listen! Before we start, can we ask you one
thing? Can you stop throwing those firecrackers? We want to give you
a lot of music, but we're not going to fight with firecrackers? Ok?!
Cool it with the explosives." After some scary firecracker blasts
and shouts of protest from Robert, the show begins. It is quite good.
Jimmy's solo in Since I've Been Loving You is excellent. He really tortures
his guitar, making it scream and moan. Jimmy actually speaks during
the acoustic section ("Better to live one day as a king, than a
thousand years as a peasant."), and the ending of the show is kind
of sloppy. Jimmy massacres Ten Years Gone, has problems with his instrument
during White Summer/Black Mountain Side and the solo and Achilles Last
Stand are rushed and violent. Fairly strong show for the 2nd or 3rd
one of the tour, and a strong opening nonetheless for Chicago, although
disaster is around the corner three nights late.

Comments:
A very good show, sadly shortened due to some restrictions - In My Time
Of Dying and Trampled Underfoot were dropped out from this show. The
reason of this unexpetced move was caused of city-based hockey team,
Chicago Black Hawks. They were in the playoffs at the time and had to
use the arena on Friday night. The union that worked this facility demanded
Zeppelin be finished by 11:00 P.M. as the Showco sound system had to
be dismantled for the hockey game to be played on Friday. It was reassembled
for Saturday's show.

Comments:
This is the show where Jimmy passes out due to food poisoning! The playing
is very gutsy and inspired, although several times his timing is off
and he confuses the rest of the band. This is most evident in the intro
to Nobody's Fault But Mine and the fact that he plays the first minute
of Since I've Been Loving You before the aforementioned song, making
the set out of order and confusing the band, who do not enter. In My
Time Of Dying was also dropped from tonight's set out. The show is cancelled
after Jimmy passes out in Ten Years Gone due to food poisoning. Plant:
"Jimmy has got a bout of gastro-enteritis, which isn't helped by
firecrackers, so we've gonna take a neccessary five minute break."
After a conversation backstage, Richard Cole announced to the quite
a disappointed audience: "Jimmy does not want to a half-hearted
show tonight. If you watch the press on Monday, this show will be rescheduled.
The band feel very bad about this, but please hang onto your tickets.
All tickets will be honoured." Too bad, as the show was very intense.

Comments:
Possibly the best night from four Chicago-based shows. The playing is
hot here and seems that the band had leaved most of the problems that
plagued them on all the previous night behind. Plant said near the beginning
of the show about what happened to Pagey last night: "Jimmy was
feeling ill last night, but it was only a false pregnancy, so that's
alright ... Mr Page neither smokes, drinks, takes women or does anything
like that so we want an apology tomorrow and a crate of alcohol!"
said Robert according to the some local radio report last night. The
beginning is blistering and In My Time Of Dying is very powerful and
rather bombastic. No Quarter is another fine version but as always on
this tour, Ten Years Gone is full om mistakes due to the fact that song
was not too much rehearsed before the tour. Kashmir shines and is brutal
and Achilles Last Stand forced the audience as well. This is the show
where Page is captured wearing (in)famous storm tropper outfit.

Comments:
This is all that is known to exist from this very enjoyable 1977 show.
The playing is slick and there is nary a mistake throughout this concert.
Kashmir is very powerful and the opening blast into Sick Again is quite
powerful. Robert gets upset at the constant barrage of firecrackers,
which are clearly audible on this tape. A rather rowdy audience gets
out of control in some point that caused Plant to comment: "It's
very difficult to play when you see crowds of people swaying. Keep it
cool. Stand still. We don't want to see anybody get hurt."

This is all that exists from this show that remembered the worst incident
in the band's whole career - due to rowdy audience a young boy was pushed
from stadium's level straight into the street, where he was stuck by
a car accidentally and died. Robert's voice is very powerful and Kashmir
rocks really hard, and the entrance into it is explosive. Jimmy also
plays the riff from Candy Store Rock but unfortunetally this is taken

Comments:
A very good early 1977 show. Sick Again is really heavy and rocks hard,
and Since I've Been Loving You contains some tortured guitar soloing
from Jimmy. No Quarter contains some truly great improvisations and
some interesting keyboard variations by Jonesy. Achilles Last Stand
brings the house down as always and Trampled Underfoot is an excellent
version to cap the event.
WARNING! Some sources
reported that another tape of this show exist and may still be in the
hands of a tape hoarder. Possibly whole show was recorded but a very
big care must be taken with these reports.

Comments:
Another very good show. Nice renditions of Sick Again, In My Time Of
Dying, No Quarter and Kashmir. Some idiot threw a bottle that wasn't
empty up on stage which actually clipped Jimmy's guitar. He sat his
guitar down on the stand and left the stage. The remaining members also
left shortly after. It's reported that Jimmy was pissed off, and nearly
cancelled the remainder of the show. But after some minutes Jimmy played
as if nothing had happened. He also misses some notes during his solo
in Achilles Last Stand and Ten Years Gone is only average. Rather great
version of Stairway To Heaven and a strong encore closing this evening.

Comments:
This is clearly a night to remember. This gets my vote for the best
show of the whole 1977 tour! The playing and energy are wonderful and
Robert is in very strong voice. This show has what are probably the
best ever versions of Ten Years Gone and Since I've Been Loving You
from 1977, as well as a spine-chilling Jimmy Page Solo, a monstrous
Achilles Last Stand, a grand Kashmir, and amazing playing throughout,
especially from Jimmy. No Quarter is a wonderful, long version with
lots of classical references thrown in.

Comments:
The last show of the first leg of the tour and what a way to end it!
This is generally an excellent show on all levels, including an excellent
No Quarter and some amazing guitar work on Since I've Been Loving You.
Jimmy seems to be totally focused during the whole show and the concert
as a whole is great. An interesting note is that this broke The Who's
record for the highest attendance at a concert at the same venue by
a little under 500 people.

Comments:
A very good show, the first during the tour's second leg since the Silverdome
show. The first few songs are heavy and played very well and really
provide a solid introduction to the set. No Quarter in particular is
quite good, although shorter than usual. Achilles Last Stand is very
good and almost impeccable and the drama is really heightened in the
solo/jam section of Stairway To Heaven. A brutal Rock And Roll caps
the event.

Comments:
The performance of the band at this concert is not so bad as reported
somewhere but still not tops. Aside from some minor flaws, the overall
level of its performance is very satisfying. The brightest star of this
concert is John Bonham who continued to deliver a high level of performance
throughout the concert. At this concert, Bonzo also shines especially
in his drum solos with marvelous stereo effects, as well as in the very
powerful Achilles Last Stand. The recording so vividly and lively revives
his amazing technique, power and "feel" that no other drummer
in the world would probably ever be able to attain or surpass for good
... there also are some funny moments captured in this recording.

Comments:
The crowd is riotous in this show and it adds a certain amount of chaos
and tension to the concert. The band has to restart In My Time Of Dying
as they messed up the tempo and Bonham completely ruins the end by playing
so far out of time that I couldn't even find the beat by listening to
the guitars (Plant: "I'll tell you what we'll do ... we'll start
it again"). The concert is basically average, but still pretty
good. Achilles is the real blowout; one of the most aggressive versions
I have ever heard and very powerful. Stairway sounds really tired and
worn out. Robert doesn't do any of his usual ad-libs and he sounds lazy
and uninterested on all the vocals. The only part of the piece that
sounds lively is the guitar solo and that jam section. The encores are
good and It'll Be Me features Mick Ralphs of Bad Company on second guitar
... he shouldn't have bothered getting on stage. Not only does Jimmy
make him look foolish with his playing but he gets completely drowned
out as well!

Comments:
Although the recording is very clear, it is incredibly distant, and
hard to listen to unless you turn it up a lot and don't mind some hiss.
Then, it is enjoyable and discernible. The performance itself is amazing,
one of the strongest and best of the 1977 tour. These four nights in
Landover were a very strong segment of the tour. Jimmy is on for the
whole show and the entire band is playing great and inspired music.
Even Robert is in very strong voice and high spirits. No Quarter is
excellent and Achilles Last Stand is blistering.

Another strong accent. Since I've Been Loving You is very powerful,
No Quarter an epic and Ten Years Gone is also excellent. A great, short,
impromptu version of Dancing Days leads into Black Country Woman. Moby
Dick for drum solo fans is over 35 minutes long here! So sad Jimmy not
goes deeper into Communication Breakdown but only teasing the audience
with a riff.

Another 1977 disaster. Even though the playing is exceptional and really
gutsy and strong, the show has to be called off due to a severe rainstorm

Comments:
This is the first of a six-night stand in New York and a really good
show at that. In My Time Of Dying was dedicated to the British Queen.
"Tonight is the beginning of the celebration of Queen Elizabeth
II's Silver Jubilee, and that's heavy thing for us, so we'll do this
one for Liz!" said Plant to the noisy audience. Kashmir is a little
sloppy but the whole show is really powerful and Jimmy is on fire in
Achilles Last Stand. The drumming is very sloppy in Stairway To Heaven
and everyone chases each other through Rock And Roll, which makes for
a very bizarre arrangement.

Comments:
Quite a mixed performance. It is just about possible to say Kashmir
is a good version and Plant is in good voice on The Battle Of Evermore.
The audience are loud and let off firecrackers periodically and are
not very impressed by an uninspired Moby Dick.
WARNING! Some sources
reported that another tape of this show exist and may still be in the
hands of a tape hoarder. Possibly whole show was recorded but a very
big care must be taken with these reports.

Comments:
A great 1977 show that has some of the best playing. This is the first
night during that tour where they played Over The Hills And Far Away
instead of In My Time Of Dying, and also the first where they play Heartbreaker.
Ten Years Gone is gorgeous and No Quarter is truly excellent. Kashmir
is thundering and the finale has some great playing, with Achilles Last
Stand being the high point. An excellent version of Heartbreaker is
thrown into the set and is rocking.

Comments:
Fourth night at the Garden and the crowd is just as wild as the first!
The set is well paced and the crude recording gives you an idea of just
how much of a sonic wall Bonham and Jones were capable of creating.
No Quarter is excellent as in most 1977 shows and Ten Years Gone has
Page being as epic as usual with his one guitar orchestrations. Kashmir
is towering and Heartbreaker is a riotous encore with Page's middle
solo containing sections as it did in the past.
WARNING! Some sources
reported that another tape of this show exist and may still be in the
hands of a tape hoarder. Possibly whole show was recorded but a very
big care must be taken with these reports.

Comments:
A very powerful and strong show all the way through. Robert even sings
Over The Hills And Far Away up high, something he hadn't done for five
years! No Quarter is gorgeous. Jimmy's soloing is excellent and Jones
plays some great, mystical piano. The entire show is very powerful and
brings to mind the spontaneity of previous tours.

Comments:
The final night at the Garden and an excellent show. The band is very
powerful and Page is playing a great concert, stopping the hearts of
the crowd in Since I've Been Loving You and especially No Quarter. Ten
Years Gone is an excellent version and the concert is powerful where
the tape finishes. This is all that exists of the show.
Important Note: Another
8mm color amateur footage without actual sound is available from Madison
Square Garden June 1977. The video captures the band performing The
Song Remains The Same through The Battle Of Evermore (total length of
3 minues). Very horrible footage thats blurry the entire time.
Details cannot be seen. Band members height fill about a third of the
screen. This video is available on "Assemblage" (Cosmic Energy)
but detailed date is still not confirmed. Any persons who have any possibility
to detecting this date, please contact with the author

Comments:
This show is wonderful. Jimmy Page is playing some of the best guitar
I have ever heard, and despite his back problems during this show, Jonesy
is amazing on bass and keyboards. Robert's voice is in very good shape,
and the only problem comes from Bonham. He sounds fine sometimes, but
other times, his fills are measures behind the rest of the group and
his playing is erratic ... it still sounds fine with the songs and makes
for some new arrangements, but sometimes he seems lost ... they drop
Moby Dick because of this. ("He's got trouble with his back. He's
been lying in bed all day. It's about time we had some sordid press.
It should be noted that he doesn't just play backgammon!" Plant
stated somewhere in the show.) Anyhow, this show is great, and No Quarter,
